30/365 Welcome to our home
So all my willing photography subjects are down the street playing with friends and enjoying the sunshine! So I snapped a pic of my new wreath I picked up at Joanne's yesterday.

27/365 My son loves to build
Anything, really. His teacher sent him home with this tonight to build--a brush robot! It holds a paintbrush and can paint a picture. He's to take it back and show tomorrow. It turned out cute!
I'm not sure how these pictures will turn out. I loaded a storyboard and tried to build it for the first time. I am trying to learn photoshop and my progress is slow to say the least!

January 24th 2011 Self Portrait
Actually took these on Monday but didn't get to post them till today. Had fun figuring out it is not so easy taking a self portrait with your remote! I had my camera set on a tripod and when I would sit down I would keep sitting down in the wrong place for where the focus fell! Lots of blurry shots! I was hoping to try more today but it is kind of rainy and the light is not great so we will see how it goes...

We love Skype
And usually my children are a little more animated than this, but here they are talking to their grandparents in Canada.

More snow!
It started snowing again today as I was heading home from work. We just got the call that schools are cancelled tomorrow as well--again! It is pretty, but I have had enough snow for one winter. I thought this was a southern state!

Ribbon for Savannah
We made a ribbon for a friend of ours, Savannah. She is 10 years old and fighting an aggressive form of cancer that has now invaded her bones and become very painful. Lime green is Savannah's favorite color. Her friends in the community are putting lime green ribbons on their mailboxes to show our support to this brave young girl and her family! This is ours.

As much as I love Christmas, and decorating my house for Christmas, I also love when Christmas decorations are FINALLY taken down and the house gets back to it's normal state of being. I have been working since this weekend trying to get everything put away and was starting to get a little tired of all the bins around the house in their partially packed state.

My 11 year old mini-me.
My beautiful girl is funny, joyful, sweet, sensitive and kind. I'm so proud to have her as mine!

January 4th 4/365
To say my 10 year old son loves legos would be an understatement. Mildly obsessed is more accurate. He will play in his room for hours with these things. And every night, when I tuck him into bed, I step on something that has been built in the course of the day.
I always apologize, and his response is always the same. "It's ok, mom. I'll fix it in the morning."
And he always does.

January 3rd 3/365
My poor running shoes have been neglected in recent months. But I've made a resolution to spend more time with them in the upcoming year. I registered for the Country Music 1/2 Marathon which will take place in April here in Nashville. So my trusty running shoes and I will be back to logging some miles in the early mornings.
4:30 am came really early today, though! Guess it will take a bit of time to get back in the swing of things...

Janurary 1, 2011 My 365 Project
Today I am starting a photography project called a 365 project. I'l be taking a photo every day and posting it here.
I have two purposes in doing this project. I have been hugely inspired by some incredibly talented women in a photography group called "Clickin Mom's". I have followed several ladies wonderful 365 projects last year and saw how the project had them documenting "little moments" that they might not otherwise photograph. Also, it was inspiring to see how much everyone's photography improved as the year went on.
By taking a photo every day, I will be documenting the everyday events that happen in our family, things that I might not have documented in a photo before, if I didn't "have" to take a photo. Also, I expect I will be learning, and growing as a photographer by taking a photo every day.
My first photo, is of a wall in my dining room. I love what is speaks about our family. And that is what is most important to me, my family.
I have NEVER blogged before, so this is completely new to me. I'm not even sure I know what I am doing yet, so if you have any suggestions for me, feel free to add them!
I have a ton to learn, and looking forward to the journey!
